# Why can't I add more skills to my profile?
If you can no longer add more skills to your profile, you have likely added the maximum number of skills allowed.
Independent contractors can only add a **maximum of 10 skills** (**minimum of 3**). This limitation has been placed because the more skills an independent contractor adds to their profile, the less specialised they may appear to Clients.
We suggest that you choose the skills that are most relevant to your expertise or skills that you can consistently demonstrate at a professional standard.
If you've gained new skills or feel that there are better skills you would like to put in your profile, you may always delete some of the skills, so you're able to add new ones.
